Open incorporated Inc services many counties in USA with their healthcare software products. The data for the central system was supplied by a Tablet PC application. This meant carrying a bulkier equipment to service the patients and this equipment failed to provide the flexibility of a PocketPC.

Challenge

The information presented on the tablet PC was envisioned by the client to be ported to a PocketPC to improve the ease of use. They also wanted to provide a much robust architecture than the tablet PC. The first challenge though was to develop relevant UI on the pocket PC that will match or better the UI of the tablet PC. The mobile devices needed to interoperate seamlessly over other applications to consume information.

Solution

Saadhvi Technology was chosen to architect the mobile system which will provide security, performance and scalability on the top of a better UI. The target of deployment was any PDA or smartphone running Windows Mobile 5. Our n-tier solution comprised of the development of a smart client software factory which provided the facility to support data manipulation during the online and offline status of the mobile device. The application uses SQL CE version 2.0 data base to store the data related to a patient. To provide high performance solution we implemented a highly efficient cache coherency and data caching technique. The user sensitive system data (like passwords) are encrypted using Rivest Shamir and Adleman Algorithm (RSA) for pocket pc. The solution also used webservice to interact with other web systems to consume and disperse information.

Challenge

The data on the central system needed to be presented through a UI which facilitated the drill down functionality of a dataware housing system. The unstructured data collected needed to be regrouped and rearranged so that it could be made accessible to the reporting application.

Solution

Saadhvi Technology was chosen to design, code and test the reporting system which has the capability to report and extrapolate the result to n-dimensions. Advanced web technologies such a AJAX was used to increase performance of the reporting system. Extensive innovative data caching techniques were applied. The UI not only involved display of alpha-numerical data but all the graphical representation of the data such a pie, chart, bar graphs. Data warehousing technologies such as dimensions and queries were analysed and understood and implemented to develop the reporting system. Reporting system provides for facilities to schedule reports and as well as generate PDFs.

The client had the need to develop utility programs to enable the interaction between different system in their environment.

Solution

Saadhvi Technology was chosen to design, code and test all the utilities. The solution was delivered with emphasis on quality and as well as short time constraints. Generate universally readable XML - DB data details are converted from proprietary database format into universally accessible XML format. This facilitates EDI across independent subsystems. Technologies: XmlReader, XmlWriter, File I/O PCR Generator - PCR generator collects these details about a patient and generates an electronic report complete with digital signature to be delivered to the patient at the time of discharge. Saadhvi Technology achieved this by using commercial libraries. Technologies: AspPDF library ReadUDPMessage - This socket programming utility read UDP messages and wrote UDP message to a socket which was then used for updating the Database. Technologies: Networking (UDP), Webservice SQLServer to Excel - We have developed an adapter that transforms data from an enterprise database (sql server, oracle) table to "xls" format. Technologies: office adapter, file I/O Time and expense report - Simple time and expense tracking application.

This application was designed using a Delphi application which failed to provide many extended features that . Net frame work provide today on a desktop environment.

Challenge

The information that was currently presented on the Tablet PC was envisioned by the client to be migrated from Delphi to .Net 2.0. The significant requirements for the design were that the new .Net 2.0 Tablet PC version would improve the ease of use, ease of deployment, decrease maintenance with improved scalability and also to provide a much robust architecture than the existing Delphi tablet PC application. The first challenge though was to develop relevant UI on the .Net C# solution which will match or better the UI of the tablet PC. The application also needed to posses the intelligence to detect the connection state to the Internet and that the data sent be secured using X.509 certificate.

Solution

Saadhvi Technology was chosen to architect the new system which will provide security, performance and scalability on the top of a better UI. The device under consideration for deployment was hammerhead devices that work on Windows XP Tablet PC edition. Our n-tier solution comprised of the development of a smart client software factory which provided the provided the facility to support data manipulation during the online and offline status of the mobile device. The application uses SQL CE version 2.0 data base to store the data related to the patient. To provide high performance solution we produced a highly efficient cache coherency and data caching techniques. To ensure the scalability and the maintenance of the system at the modular level, the system is architecture based on the recommendation of the Microsoft Patterns and Practices group. Smart Client Software factory is used to maintain the scalability and maintenance of the application. By using Smart Client Software factory we achieve a loosely coupled yet well integrated system. The UI enhancements have been customized to the Office 2007 look and feel using the Infragistics Net advantage tools. The application has been customized to work on tablet pc using the Micro soft Ink ver 1.7. So the application can pretty much understand and recognize the ink and interpret them with in the application.

Challenge

The telecom management suite that TeleDynamicX was offering was written in C++ builder. They were finding it increasingly difficult to maintain and redistribute the application while providing advanced features. Another main challenge was that they wanted the application to have a futuristic look and feel and that the appearence be controlled by the user.

Solution

Saadhvi Technology was awarded the project by TeleDynamicx owing to its earlier exposure to Windows Smart Client development and its expertise in .Net 2.0 application engineering. Infragistics Net advantage for Windows forms was chosen for the presentation layer to provide the futuristic look and feel that TeleDynamicx wanted. The application is currently under development and immensely challenging business problems are already being solved with Saadhvi Technology's expertise in the domain and the tools that .Net 2.0 environment provides along with third party APIs. The application is developed with modularity, ease of deployment, future add-ons, scalability etc in mind.

Gym locator provides a mechanism for gym passport holders to find Gym Alliance health clubs anywhere in the world. Gym Locator is a tool to support new gym passport customers when they select a gym passport (Gym Passport Selector). Gym Locator is available via the internet and via mobile clients. Gym Locator provides an RSS feed for gym location information to be consumed via 3rd party applications. Gym Locator provides direction mapping capability.

Challenge

The application must be architected in a way to enable easy horizontal and vertical scalability. There are 100 alliance partner gyms in Australia and 400 worldwide, all of which require searching. There will be a maximum of 100 concurrent users. Performance of this application is critical. The application should support a minimum of 20 concurrent users and should take no longer than 1 second to render a map assuming no network latency. As the site is an international site and needs to support multiple languages. Gym Locator is accessible from multiple places within the web application and the multiple portals which comprise the end to end site.

Solution

Saadhvi Technology was chosen to architect the new application which will provide performance and scalability on the top of a better UI. All the text based instructions are contained in resource files. Caching should be used and all gyms location and their associated objects should be cached into application cache. Map tiles should also be cached. To ensure the scalability and the maintenance of the system at the modular level, the system is architecture based on the recommendation of the Microsoft Patterns and Practices group. Microsoft Clustering business logic and AJAX control toolkit reference are used in this application. Functionalities like Driving direction’s and Passport type are added in this application.

Benefit

The Gym Locator project is on its way to completion. Already, a beta version of the product is delivered which satisfied the client. This product will be used to locate all gyms which are in alliance with the Gym Locator clubs which helps its customer’s Worldwide. Where-ever the customer’s are, they can access the gyms which has Gym Passport facility.

Challenge

Saadhvi Technology was chosen to find out the best solution to sync the data between the mobile device and the server. The main requirement from the client was to minimize the network traffic and maintain the data integrity even at times of unreliable network connectivity.

Solution

Saadhvi Technology picked Microsoft Sync framework, remoting/WCF, web services and windows service to implement the solution. The objective of the development is to provide a robust platform on the top of Microsoft sync framework to transfer data between a mobile application and the central server under realistic unstable network conditions. The UI layer on the mobile communicates through remoting/wcf with the windows service to transfer data to the client CE database. The client application calls synchronization process "On Demand" through the “Remoting objects” which is registered and activated by the Windows service. The windows service is a timed and run on the top of sync frame work. The project is interesting because it was presented in a way that was not technical and we had to convert the non technical presentation to a technical presentation. Its also includes huge amount of research to find the optimum solution to the customer. We have also used webservice on the server side to emit and absorb the data to and for the client. We plan on using certificates to secure a channel between client and server.

The client has been provided with a robust platform on the top of sync framework to reduce the network latency and maintain data integrity under all network stability scenarios.

Challenge

The web site was designed using HTML, images, and CSS. It was very difficult to edit the contents of the pages as they were many in number and the site was very big. It was also difficult to add news, new clients and new products. Hence the need arose to switch over to a new technology so that it will be very easy to edit page contents, customize page, add new clients, add new products and new pages, images, etc.

Solution

Elina Networks approached Saadhvi Technology to switch over to a new technology to overcome these difficulties. We recommended Joomla using PHP, and MySQL. "PHP is a server-side, cross-platform, HTML embedded scripting language for creating dynamic Web pages.” PHP is excellent for creating dynamic Web sites based on database content or different characteristics of browsers. In addition to manipulating the content of our pages, PHP can also send HTTP headers. We can set cookies, manage authentication, and redirect users. It offers excellent connectivity to many databases (and ODBC).

Benefit

Users can edit webpage content without the need to directly use HTML markup. An editing tool incorporated in the content management systems (CMS) adds the necessary HTML tags "behind the scenes." The user works directly in an interface that renders the content according to the HTML markup, using an editing toolbar. Speed optimization: As with many scripting languages, PHP scripts are normally kept as human-readable source code, even on production web servers. Therefore, these PHP scripts will be compiled at runtime by the PHP engine. Compiling at runtime increases the execution time of the script because it adds an extra step in runtime.

The challenge we had was that we found it difficult to track issues raised by the client. We needed a comprehensive solution that will escalate based on a set of business rules. The issues handled by our employees could not be tracked and reported to the client for further analyze to improve the development process

Solution

We decided to use SharePoint for tracking the issues effectively. With that advanced technology we integrated the next generation technology called workflow to make the process more systematic. The workflow is completely user friendly that was designed to meet one of our client needs. The WWF (windows workflow foundation) was used to configure the issue tracking busniness process. The user is presented with a customizable form to collect parameters for the issue.

Benefit

By using the the worklow and sharepoint technology we are able to infer the status a issue and report on the same. Timely emails are sent an important stages of the issue tracking.

The textile industry primarily wanted to improve the process of design and ordering of textiles.

Challenge

The textile industry wanted to have a system to interact with and design T-Shirt of their choice by varying the combination of size, images, and colors of the T-Shirt.

Solution

Saadhvi Technology was able to provide great solution with a combination of different technologies, like Flash CS4, AS3, XML, Java scripting and PHP. Using the design solution the client will be able to drag and drop images and put different colors, even specify the number of orders that they want on the particular T-shirt. It automatically quotes the price. All these are done in real time and saved on to the database.

The solution let their clients to design their own T-shirts, and place orders all in one tool. This provided a huge cost cutting.
